Materials

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 chopped onion (brown or red)
  • 3 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 1 can chopped tomatoes Approximately 400g or 400ml, depending on the brand
  • 5 ml dried crushed chillies or flakes
  • 20 ml butter
  • 20 ml olive oil
  • 250 ml cream

Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • Place butter and olive oil in a frying pan and heat gently until combined.
  • Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until onion is cooked through.
  • Add chilli flakes and ensure they have softened before adding chopped tomatoes.
  • Slowly bring to a boil, stirring regularly. Turn down and allow to simmer uncovered for 5 minutes.
  • Just before serving, add cream and heat through, ensuring it is well mixed.
  • Add sauce to pasta and serve with grated parmesan.

Notes

Adjust the amount of chilli flakes to suit your preferred level of spiciness.
