- 40 ml oil
- 2 large onions sliced
- 500 g beef cut into cubes (e.g., chuck or brisket)
- 500 ml water
- 400 g tomatoes diced
- 40 ml tomato juice
- 40 ml coriander chopped

Cooking Instructions
- Heat oil in a large saucepan and add the sliced onions. Stir over medium heat for about 4 minutes or until onions are soft.
- Stir in the beef and cook over high heat until the beef is well browned.
- Stir in water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for about 2 hours or until the beef is tender.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato juice, and chopped coriander. Cook over medium heat for 2 minutes.
- Serve the stew with cooked rice, popadoms, chutney, and pickles.
