- 1 kg pork spare ribs
Marinade
- 80 ml BBQ sauce
- 20 ml lemon juice
- 5 ml chilli sauce optional
- 5 ml Chinese 5 spice
- 500 ml ginger wine or dry sherry
- 40 ml soy sauce
- 20 ml honey
- 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
- 1 piece ginger (grated) 2.5 cm
Instructions
Preparation
- Place spare ribs in a large pan of water, bring to a boil, cover, and boil for 20 minutes. Strain.
- Combine all other ingredients in a bowl. Pour over spare ribs and marinate overnight.
Cooking
- Place marinated spare ribs in a baking dish. Heat oven to moderate 180°C.
- Cook for approximately 1 hour, basting often. Pork should be tender.
